*GM NOTE: This game takes place around July 1992.
Having become fairly successful, the New York Ghostbusters have finally realized Venkmen’s dream of franchising the company. They’ve scouted some good locations to set up shop. Spokane, Washington is to be the location of their next franchise.
They placed an ad in the classifieds of one of Spokane’s major newspapers calling for groups interested in becoming franchisees:
Interested in joining the exciting and glamorous world of professional paranormal investigations and eliminations? Ghostbusters International is looking for a qualified team for their new Spokane, Washington franchise location. Call 1 (509) 555-7433 to set up an appointment for an interview.
Having seen to the GBI classified ad offering lucrative careers in professional paranormal investigations and eliminations, and having lost his farm, Woody Schwartsman placed an ad of his own in order to scare up a “qualified team” (as described by the ad) of potential Ghostbusters to apply.
Trina Sylvester arrived to meet Woody at the local Starbucks in reference to his classified advertisement. After using her skills in parapsychology and psychology to evaluate Woody’s incompetence and tolerating a brief questionnaire from the man about Ghostbusting she secured herself a comfortable position as the second member of the team (before trying to secure herself a date with the coffee shop girl). The two step outside to find Woody’s blue Stanza being towed.
Marty Spinelli, owner of “Big Haul Towing” double-checked his list of cars up for repossession bounty to make sure the Stanza did indeed fit the bill. After having hooked the thing to his truck, he was interrupted by the appearance of the vehicle’s owner, Woody, and his new companion, Trina. After a tough negotiation about whether or not to tow the car, Marty agreed to take Woody up on this potentially lucrative Ghostbusting opportunity.
Woody and Trina headed to the interview office and attempted to ditch Marty to make a better first impression. Marty found the office address in a flyer in the phone book and made his own way toward the scene. Upon their arrival the group was passed by some of their fellow applicants and were then confronted with Francis who was failing his attempt at becoming a secretary for GBI.
Having been the first to arrive, Woody and Trina were to first to get past the secretary and be buzzed into the office of one Louis B. Tully, who tests their mettle by jumping our from behind his office door in a sheet. Of the two, Trina managed to keep a cool head, while Woody managed to nearly jump right out of his cowboy boots. Arriving shortly thereafter Marty made sure to make his presence known, and Francis managed to squirrel himself into the room and claim a spot on the team. After a brief interview, the potential employees were sent away with the assurance that someone will call them. So ended session 1.
